“Father, I’m cold” Trevis says, shivering.
“Alright ill go out and get some wood, for the fire place” replied his father, as he walk out the door, carrying an axe on his shoulder “, I’ll be home at around 4 hours.” Trevis knew that his father is rarely late; his father was going to arrive exactly in 4 hours. Trevis was so cold that he grabbed about 5 thick blankets inside the cabinets. I hate this lodge, but I would do anything to be away from my mom thought Trevis. Time went by slowly till finally 4 hours passed then 6, then 8, then 10. This made Trevis frightened, and scared thinking that his father abandoned him. He ran to his room and started crying, for hours; till he had no more tear left in him.
“Don’t cry.” Said someone, in a really high pitched voice. Trevis turns around and see to fairies, flying in the middle of the room. He thought he fell asleep, so Trevis pinches himself, rubs his eyes, but they were still there.
“We have come here to tell you that your father has been captured by trolls.” Said the red fairy.
“What…”Trevis said still confused on what they were.
“Mind our manners,” said the Green fairy “, my name is courage, and the red fairy here is name strength, we have come here to help you save your father.”
“How?” asked Trevis.
“We will lend you our power.” Said Strength “, But, you have to give us something, something valuable.” Quickly Trevis remembered that, he had a small emerald rock, and a small ruby rock. When the fairies saw the jewels they’re eyes nearly popped out.
“That’s one of the most sacred rocks for the fairies of strength, and courage.” Said courage.
“I’ll give you these rocks if you, first help me save my father.” Trevis said.
“Alright we will give you our power to save your father in exchange for the jewels.” Said strength. Suddenly, Trevis feels strength, and confidence, he starts feeling the power which will help him save his father. Trevis burst through the door hoping to find anything that will help him track down the trolls, and soon enough he did, he found a giant cloud of smoke come from the middle of the pine cone forest. Without hesitation Trevis ran in following the smoke cloud. On his way to the Trolls hide out, he also noticed broken trees, and big footprints on the ground. This hadn’t scared Trevis, because he knew that Courage, and Strength were with him. Trevis followed the trail that the trolls had left and soon enough he found they’re hid out.
In the hideout there were 3 trolls, big and bulky, a fire place, and a cage in where his father was. A soon as Trevis saw his father he nearly jumped up in joy, to see that he was still alive, but if he didn’t react fast his dad would be the stew. Suddenly he noticed that he made too much noise, so then the trolls turned around and tried to grab him, but Trevis was too fast, because the power of strength gave him also power in the legs. Then Trevis grabbed a rope and wrapped it around the legs of all three giants causing them to fall. Trevis didn’t have much time so he ran grabbed the keys and unlocked, the cage in which his father was in.
“What’s happening here!?!?” Trevis dad asked with fear in his voice.
“I’ll explain later” Trevis says, as he picks up his dad and runs back to the lodge.
“Really so let me get this straight, I was captured by trolls, and these two fairies: Courage, and Strength, told you I was captured, and you traded them and emerald, and a ruby to save me?” His dad says, still surprised on what had happened.
“Yup that’s pretty much it.” Trevis replied “, so how long till we get home???”
“I don’t know, around 5 hours.” He replied. “, Well, anything is better than a place where trolls live, no wonder people don’t visit that lodge very often.”
“I wonder what they wanted.” Trevis says out loud.
“They wanted your fathers’ soul, anyone who goes to that lodge, is always going to be the victim to the trolls, that’s why Courage and I protect, or save the humans from the trolls.” Says Courage, and vanishes in the air, with his companion Strength.
“Ya it true mom, dad got abducted by trolls!” yells Trevis.
“Yah right like if I’m going to believe that, trolls, don’t exist, nor do fairies.” His mom replies coldly.
I guess I can’t tell anyone, because if I do they will think I’m crazy, and send me to this mental hospital, I don’t really want that. Trevis thought
“Yes mom I was just joking around we didn’t, see any trolls nor, fairies, I’m sorry for yelling at you.” Replies, Trevis calmly, but he didn’t mean anything he told his, mom.
“Yes, I’m sorry too.” She replies. She is actually sorry, it’s the first time she actually says she was sorry, because she is, oh I mean was a stubborn, and always thought she was right, but she has changed... Thought Trevis as he hugged his mom so tightly, like if he was a newborn baby.
