Memoir Monday: Riding the Mountain
I walk on the route, into Medusa one of the biggest rides in the park. My dad tried convincing, and it didn’t work, but the only reason I’m stuck now with my cousin (a girl), my dad, and my smaller brother is because of my dignity…
My brother had ridden the ride exactly 11 times, and I haven’t gone in it. My brother is 10 years old, and I’m 12 I must look like the biggest scardy cat there has ever been, and I have come to clear that name.
I walk on the route and it felt short, before I know it we are at the front of the line. I felt tears in my eyes, but why, why do I have tears in my eyes? What am I so worried about? I guess I was just tense, or tired. There are four chairs so I sit on the 3 one to the right. My dad sat to my left, my cousin to my right (at the end), and my little brother at the other end. My cousin noticed I was feeling tense, and scared, so she talks to me trying to comfort me, and it does a bit. The ride got delayed, and a bit of hope sprung in to me, thinking the ride broke down so, we had to get off, but suddenly the ride started to function again. There we went up, up, and up. And before I know it we are going down, down, down. Then I’m on the giant loop, and I’m yelling, not because I’m scared, but because I’m enjoying it.
