Where to go?
The left,
To the sweltering scorching sand
Where enormous sand castles
Stand.
Or the right
To the cold, chilly ocean
Where the waves
Are perfect,
Crashing not too soon
Nor too late.
Or maybe the middle,
Where everything
Is split in half
And you are
Lost in-between,
Undecided on which side to choose.
In-between where you
Have a bit of one side
And a bit of the other.
The young boy
Inexperienced,
A fledgling in life,
Thought of this…
Where to go…?
Maybe to a bar
Though I am not old enough,
Or a play ground,
But I am already
Too old.
He’s stuck in the middle
Where both ends
Meet,
Not knowing which side to choose…
Akin to a lost child
Trying to find their mother.
Great job Matty! This is really well written; It has poetic devices, a really good rhythm, and really brings out the ideas of a child trying to figure out where he belongs. Nice job! :)
ResponderEliminarThanks Camila! Glad you liked it!
ResponderEliminarWell played sir. No duh it has poetic devices, but the idea and concept behind this story is great. It's been amazing to see what people have come up with.
ResponderEliminarReally good poem Matt, you even used Worldly Wise words, good poetic devices and good way of portraying coming of age.
